We’re back in the upper deck of the Galaxion’s engine room, with Chief Engineer Anna Ito (we last saw her at the briefing earlier in the chapter). The fellow with the dark hair is Assistant Chief Ewan Okalik, whom we first met in Chapter Two (coincidentally, in this very same room). That guy on the right in the last panel, he’s a new recruit to the Galaxion! As some of you may recall, our recent Indiegogo campaign featured as one of the pledge reward levels a chance to become a member of the crew. This is his first appearance!
So he’s been on the ship with the engineering crew the entire time, and he hasn’t accidentally exploded it?
I’ll call that a success!
Oh no, the general ordered him to sabotage the jump sequence so she could stay and look for her husband.
Well I don’t really think the general has done that, but I can just imagine her authoritative voice saying “Ms Mierter, I did what I had to do”, can’t you?
If this jump is successful, imagine the shock that the Earth-based people are going to have when the Galaxion suddenly appears in near-Earth space.
And the news they’ll be bringing: “Surprise! Everyone from Julius Schwartz and Gardner Fox to Michiu Kaku was right! We ARE living in a multiverse after all!”
I love, seriously love, the way the Galaxion looks. Such a lovely form floating there in space, totally at home. A freaking genius blending of earthly and celestial.
Humm, they have 2 people on board who are infected, and they’re going home with them? Whose to say the Meisti aren’t still with them, learning everything they see and do? they are after all, looking for their own star-ship, and are willing to subjugate any species not their own.
As I recall from reading previous episodes, that requires close proximity on the part of the Miesti and regular dosages of trenat to work properly…?
