(To anyone who stopped by early and wondered at this empty space: oops. I forgot to hit “save” after writing the commentary!)
WE DID IT!
Thank you so much to everyone who generously supported us and helped to spread the word for our Indiegogo Campaign. We raised enough money to pay for the printing and shipping, as well as a bit extra that will go towards a much-needed hardware update. I remember how nervous I was when we started this campaign, and yet we’ve raised more than I ever even hoped for. It’s quite overwhelming!
If you missed out on the official campaign, don’t worry– Volume 3 will be available to order through our site in September, after we’ve fulfilled all the Indiegogo orders.
And now, I’d better get back to work. There are a fair number of playing cards that need drawing…
Sadly not enough cards for a deck. Maybe after volume 4.. or 5..
Ooo, I love the Grand Staircase door. That nice art deco touch again – have you shown the staircase before? I think so, but by now I have all three versions stuck in my memory (well, three of four – not the Salmagundi one. Yet.) which is where the printed volumes will help a lot.
Niall, when it came time to draw it, I had to go check, too! It turns out the the staircase has not appeared before in this version. And that’s just as well, because my ideas about where it sits on the ship have changed since I first showed it, and this way I didn’t have to worry about messing with the canon of What Has Come Before (in this version, anyway).
Ah-hah! My memory was correct! It appeared very early in all the other versions, that much I know. So now I’m _really_ looking forward to it!
Congrats on the campaign Tara! Now, where’s my book?
We’re sending off the files to the printer tomorrow, and we’re told we’ll have the books by August 20th. We’ll be shipping out books as fast as we can after that. But if you’re going to FanExpo, Kev, you can pick yours up there!
Wow – I was just kidding, but congrats – that is the fastest turnaround for a crowdfunding project I have ever heard about – very professional
Pickup at FanExpo sounds perfect to me – hopefully save a dollar or two on shipping
Congrats, Tara! Looking forward to the book(s)!
Is it my imagination, or does Fusella seem a little out-of-proportion in panel 2?
Fusella looks OK to me so it must be your imagination that seems a little out-of-proportion
Or just overactive.
Quick Question: how are the decks of the Galaxion arranged? It is shaped kinda like a nautilus, so do the decks spiral around the center, or are they orthogonal to the plane of the ship, or what?
The decks are arranged in a boring cross-section way, despite the semi-nautilus design. I believe there are seven decks (though I don’t have my notes in front of me so I might be off by one or two). When I first starting working with the ship design I tried to make it work in a spiral pattern, but I just couldn’t get it to work.
