I’ve been trying to draw spiral staircases since… well, since about twenty years ago (see this week’s blog post!). It’s still a challenge.
The pages for Book Three– well, the electronic files, anyway– are now off at the printer! Back in the ’90s I used to have to shove all my pages in a box and ship them to Quebec (where my printer was. Still is, actually) by FedEx, and cross my fingers that the unthinkable wouldn’t happen and all my hard work would get lost in transit. It’s so much less stressful to just send files! If all goes well, we’ll have the books here in time for Fan Expo towards the end of August. This will be my first hometown show of 2013!
Ah yes… the ol’ spiral staircase looks better than ever!
And if you’ve got to have a main utilities trunk running the entire length/width/draft of the ship, you may as well make it look good to be around, right?
Great staircase.
And congrats on passing the 20-year mark!
The Galaxion is a beautiful construction… it took until this panel for it to really strike me
I agree – it really is a uniquely beautiful thing, defying all the ordinary utilitarianism so ubiquitous in science fiction!
