Earlier in the chapter, we saw Zan had taken apart a lamp. Many of you wondered if he was up to something, and see, you were right!
We need more Tuesdays per week.
Did either of the candidates promise to make that happen?
I don’t recall. Mostly they just babbled on about taxes…
…But that would be cool.
…Leading us right back to the distress signal the ship picked up wayyyy back at the end of chapter 7… and all that REEPing. Right? The last 17 months are a blur for me…
I sympathize– it’s tough to keep track! So here you go: the REEPing they picked up at the end of chapter 7, and seen again at the end of Chapter Eight, was actually caused by Aria activating her panic alarm (mentioned here in Ch. 8). The circumstance was made more clear in a flashback earlier in this chapter.
Oh yeah… now I remember. It’s been a loooong year.
Just imagining Ƶandarin’s thought balloon in the last panel now: “If I had a (currency of choice) for every time I’ve heard that promise…”
Either that or “At last! Vindication!”
Just a note – “disassembled”.
*makes note to fix for the print version*
… good catch!
heh, Z’s face in the last panel says it all… ‘riiiight…’
