Welcome to Chapter Eight! Are you feeling a sense of deja-vu here? If you are, it’s because I’ve been a naughty little writer and have pulled the exact same trick that I did at the beginning of Chapter Seven– I’m messing around with the timeline of events. I’ve bumped you back in time a bit, so you’re going to have to be patient and wait for things down here in the underground on the planet to catch up with what’s happening on the ship. Trust me. Meanwhile, we pick up more or less where we left off at the end of Chapter Six.
Also, new blog post below!
Aha. Now I suppose Vessa will learn how to say “hello” in Whatever-it-is-they-call-their-language-ese.
Orehu-ese. Also: YAY book 2 is out!!
There is no blurb that says “Three hours earlier…” So this must be somewhere around the time the captain gets called to the bridge. Those rake-wielding people must have access to ancient technology to make the Galaxion “panic” alarms go off. Cunning devils they are!
Total supposition! I’m not predicting anything! Honest! Scouts honor! (But, HardWear, you were never a scout…)
Also, he seems very, VERY tired trying to fix that surveying-staff-weapon-thingy.
@ HardWear: just a thought, but I think Zan is more used to
playingworking on his tools in big, clean workshops with lots of modern equipment around. And spare parts. LOTS of spare parts ^_^.Plastic-bottle water dispenser?! Run! That would be dangerous on Earth, not to mention on an alien planet. Looks like aliens managed to steal some of the finest examples of human mis-engineering.
Those locals must think the survey team is lame.
They don’t even have their own cups!
And look at that clown with his thingamajig in little pieces all over the walkway !
But they could also be using wheels to move all their stuff. They use wheels don’t they?
naughty writer? no, no, I don’t mind to see a bit of the scenery and get a bit of background on what actually going on. I mean, the team probably is curious too, no? Zan certainly is, as soon as he figures out that he can not repair his favourite probe right there.
Ok, this probably then leads to the next action scene
