Yes, we’re into flashback territory again (hence the rounded corners). Basically we’re picking up from where we left off near the end of Chapter Eight.
Also: Orehu. I never get tired of that gag. (But read a couple of pages on from there for a more useful reminder of who the Orehu are!)
In other news, there’s a new blog post up. At last!
Ooh, flashback and squiggles!
And reeps! Don’t forget the reeps!
I know how much you guys all love the reeps!
Wait, what? I’m a little confused what is happening here. I get that the rounded panel=flashback (and clearly it has to be)….but….Has Scavina started the meeting? Are these her thoughts? A little more context – even just an additional panel – before jumping back into flashback mode would be helpful.
Hmm. This might be another issue of the weekly pace of the webcomic causing the story to suffer, vs. being able to read the pages all in a row in the archive or the (eventual) graphic novel. Or… you might be right!
Once this scene is finished (I don’t think this is much of a spoiler, but yes, the flashback does lead directly into the meeting), it would be awesome if you could give it another read and let me know if you still think I need to add a transitional element.
This abrupt transition could be the beginning of the debriefing meeting. After a page or two of “escape action” then we will see the officers in their meeting room listening to the general and then “discussing” options of response.
Heh. Soothing alarm…bwhahahaha! (I can’t help but smile.)
I must be stupid. How is Orehu a joke?
Not at all– it’s a known fact that Galaxion readers are all remarkably intelligent and good looking! In the page that I linked to (this one), there’s a visual gag of Zan trying to pronounce “Orehu” in their native language and totally flubbing it. I don’t expect most people reading the page would find it as amusing as I do, but it does make me laugh every time.
I have been following Galaxion for a long time, not quite as long as the short story, but this is my first post. I just have to say: GAH! Didn’t Aria wonder why Zandarin suddenly started “obeying” her? I predict butterflies on the ship. Aria and Zan were too buzzed out to notice or warn the others.
Tara: Thanks for the link back to Orehu. Cracks me up every time too. Not to mention all the other hilarious comments and comparisons you make in the comments. Do you know how hard you make it to get work done?
Just ran into unexpected expenses at home, but once I get caught up again, I plan to make a donation.
