Ewan, as you all doubtless remember (because heck, who doesn’t remember what I posted a month and a half ago?) scarpered off to go play with the Jump Engine.
We finally got our Xmas tree up over the weekend, and one of the ornaments I pulled out of the big box was the Little Galaxion Terran Space Administration (TerSA) paper bauble. And since even I couldn’t find the old link to it in my archive, I thought some of you who missed it last year might be interested in seeing it again.
It’s a very simple print-n-assemble thing, and you can download it here.
EDIT: If that link above doesn’t work for you, try here instead!
The inherent hazard of working on the N-junction of the flux-capacitor is that it -GZZZZZK-K-ZZZZZZ
Still fearing for the Chief…
“Scarpered” is a word that is not used often enough.
And she even has a convenient glass door to do the end-of-STII scene…
I gotta say, even if I had been planning an homage to that scene, the recent Trek movie would’ve killed the joy for me!
I guess I’m glad I didn’t see that movie, then… I love the classic Trek films.
I’m guessing this does not end well for Chief Ito. Cause, like, it did not in the original version (revised happy ending for Patty not withstanding).
I’m getting “Page Not Found” errors when I click on the ornament link ().
Thanks.
John, that might have been due to the file type I’d uploaded, which some browsers don’t seem to like (if I’m understanding this correctly). I uploaded an additional jpg file above, which I hope you’ll have better luck with!
Yup, the .jpg worked, thanks.
(By the way, I just tested, and the .tif file link didn’t work for Firefox, Chrome, or IE. If you run into a situation where you need a downloaded .tif file, I’m guessing that zipping it first would be the way to go.)
Thank you again.
IE and Firefox at least don’t appear to support TIFF files natively, but if the web server is configured properly the browser would be asking to open or download them, I think. So maybe it’s a web server thing…?
It looks like there’s a typo in the link path, hence the “page not found” errors.
Link is http://galaxioncomics.com/1-comic/book-4/chapter-10/339colour/galaxioncomics.com/images/TerSA-Ornament.tif
and should be http://galaxioncomics.com/images/TerSA-Ornament.tif
Well, I’m not entirely sure why that link went wonky, but maybe it’ll work now?
Actually, if you right-click the link for the tif and “save link as”, the .tif downloads from Firefox just fine. Trying to load the page brings up quicktime (yuck), though. The .jpg file loads to the screen.
Any page that ends in “Please just get–” is not pointing to good things, methinks.
Taps for Chief Ito, then. And everyone else in the room.
and then things got worse.
Wouldn’t it be funny if contrary to expectations, instead of leading to her getting hurt, she’s already standing behind him as he pleads for her to get out of there?
Hmmm… Chief Ito and the others in there are all in closed suits, which doesn’t look like the “Spock option” in which the character dies but the ship is saved. On the other hand, Ewan is right next to the entrance without a helmet so if the area fills with toxic fumes from “localised damage” either those inside can’t get out quickly or Ewan is the one to suffer.
Eagle-eyed readers will notice that there is no new page up today. That is because an ice storm in Toronto has left Tara without power and internet access for her computer since Saturday evening. At this point we have no idea when power will be restored. Toronto Hydro says it may take until the weekend. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. Merry Christmas!
Wishing everyone affected a speedy service restoration!
Perfectly understandable. I wish Tara and her family a safe and happy Christmas, and hope power is restored to the regions affected soon.
Sorry to hear that, David. You and Tara be safe!
life imitates art.
One good disaster in suspenders deserves another!
Thanks for the update about the ice storm. Stay safe. And for the record, I’ve noticed cliffhanger dialog in the last few pages that just continued with regular dialog. MAJOR POINTS for doing it again! (please!)
