And if you fall down and break both your legs, don’t come running to me!
For all of you who have been patiently waiting, we have at last made Book Three available to order at the store! You can purchase the book separately or as part of a bundle, and you also have the option of buying a digital download.
Heh… typical engineering type. I love that third panel… XD
I guess it’s a bit like getting to watch a running steam engine for your first time
I wonder how many moving parts a jump engine has.
As many as Tara wants to give it
The next button is broken. It won’t show me the future. I just powered through your archive and now I am hooked.
I am thinking that if they get back they will draft the ship. After all didn’t they mention the standard ship designs could not handle the jump engine but the Galaxion could?
And if the full specs, construction drawings, and suchlike are available to Interplanetary Patrol, they’ll be looking to build a few new vessels along the lines of the Galaxion.
That is, if they get back to their home ‘verse…
Music: dundunDUNNNNNNNN!!!
I think it’s the size of the engine room (or the amount of space there). I think Darvin says something about that right at the start when they are talking to him, and maybe there is something in the Pathfinder short story where they say “Well, we’ll need a bigger engine room for a start”. So I think they could just build the extra space into the newer designs. On the other hand there is something to be said for keeping their working prototype around until the new designs are up and running. Although, since it’s a TerSA ship they might have trouble being allowed to keep it.
I love that they have seatbelts, and use them. Yay health and safety precautions!
And if you lose both arms don’t expect me to give you a hand.
“And if you fall down and break both your legs, don’t come running to me!” That joke should have made it onto the page!
I am confused by the two different, yet very similar, harness systems. Hers seems to lock into a harness she is already wearing and his does not. Yet the clip attached to the chair looks the same, just a different length of belt. Anyone else find this strange or am I missing something.
The seatbelt system actually seems to be cleverly designed so the seatbelts wont interfere with a harness: The harness uses the same type of clips as the seatbelts, and will effortlessly lock into the seatbelt.
As with most cars, the seatbelt can extend, so the length wont be a problem.
It does make me wonder though, is the harness only fastened by the shoulders, or does it have a way of clipping onto the lower seatbelt clip as well?
It probably does (otherwise, that would be a concern), but from last weeks view of the harness, it’s maybe not immediately obvious how that works
I wonder how they deal with whiplash.
