Did I mention her middle name is Lynn? Evolution of a character: for several years, the uniforms had different coloured stripes, depending what department you worked in. Kind of like the different coloured shirts in Star Trek. Fusella was Chief Science Officer (that’s a promotion from “Scientist”!), so she had green. The little TerSA symbol (which was still USF at this point) had migrated from the chest down to the belt, and we put the little bar in its place. The bar was originally there to show rank. Yes, back then, everyone had a rank, just like Star Trek (gosh, there’s a lot of stuff just like Star Trek)! But to be, you know, different, we used army ranks instead of naval ones. Fusella was Major Mierter.
