   If my computations are correct, they are some 745 light years away from Earth. Quite some distance. And they specified their position with an accuracy of approximately +- 10 astronomical units.

   This is a new type of box: round corners with highlights in the corners. Round corners normally means a memory. Whose memory is this? Do the highlights mean something different?

     I think it is as if you were looking out from inside the view screen they are using. Notice the shape of the screens on the other side of the room.

     There’s an old piece of advice in writing “Is this the most interesting part of your characters’ lives? If not, why aren’t you showing us that?”. I would imagine their slow crawl through space towards Myrad was fairly uneventful, so Tara jumped ahead a bit to when interesting things were happening in the story again. I could be wrong, though.
