I hope you all had a Happy (or at least Uneventful) Halloween! Now– to answer everyone’s question (and I’m looking at you, Deb ), I’ll be sticking to my usual Tuesday schedule and will not be posting a new page on the First Friday. This will probably hold true through til January. However, I happen to have a piece of beautiful fan art that I’ve been sitting on for a shamefully long time, and I plan to share that with you this Friday. So do check back on Nov 4th.
With today’s page, we pick up again with Vessa and Patty, and their new friends. The whole chapter is going to be like this, rotating between the three concurrent plotlines (Zan/Aria, Vessa/Patty, and Scavina/Vanguarthe) so you might as well settle in and enjoy it…
B-but… I wanted to see Zandarin cobble all those little bits of electronics together into a super-duper communication thingie!
Patty looks like she could use a hug.
Patty looks so ill that some local should get real worried about her sometime soon.
Maybe Dr. Zan should fix Pattie when he gets the communications un-glitched ? Nah. Too far out of his groove.
But as Fred mentioned, “some local” seems likely. How about the local sawbones? I’m ready for a surprise miracle cure any time now ! How about using pirated alien invader technology ?
I think it’s not just physical illness that’s got Patty down – I think that like Zan she may have realized that they are *profoundly* far from home, ie not spatially displaced but in another version of reality altogether. When people are sick, they are often able to confront painful truths that are otherwise buried from conciousness.
Having the time to realize what they otherwise continue to “sweep under the carpet?” Space-faring people would not be particularly sensitive to great distances, but being lost and/or crashed would be crazy city!
