You may very well be wondering why Zan is on the floor. Hmmm, I don’t want to give away spoilers, but if you reread Chapter One, you just might see a pattern emerge.

Um, I take it by fire control you mean a system that puts out fires? The usual naval/military definition for a fire control system would be more like “A fire-control system is a computer, often mechanical, which is designed to assist a weapon system in hitting its target. It performs the same task as a human gunner firing a weapon, but attempts to do so faster and more accurately.” “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire-control_system) which could cause a little bit of confusion .. unless they actually are in a battle right now as well as having a massive jump drive malfunction
Dagnabbit!
Thanks for pointing that out, Andrew! I will add this to my ever-growing list of things to fix for the print version.
Hello there – I’m something of a long-time reader, but this will be my first comment (tried getting onto the forums but got locked out. Nggh.)
Anyway, I’d like to say how refreshing it is to read a science fiction comic like this. Far too often I’ve run into comics that “borrow” (read: shamelessly steal) everything from characters to stories to backgrounds from The Current SciFi TV/Film/Game Fad. Your work here is something else again – once the print version is available, I’ll have to add it to my collection.
A small nitpick – something about Scavina’s expression in the second frame seems off. I can read the urgency of the situation in her eyes but her mouth looks like she’s smiling – she can’t be having fun while fighting for the lives of her crew, can she?
As for the flattened Zan… hm. Something about that (and what happened in Chapter One) makes me think of the quantum mind-messing that went on in Robert Sawyer’s novel Flashforward. But that can’t be it, can it? Nawww…
Hi Andrew C! Thank you! ^_^ Although I shamelessly “borrow” from all kinds of other stories any which way I can. I’ll try to get that print version out as quickly as possible!
Scavina’s expression is meant to be a grimace… I may have lost something in the translation between pencil and ink.
Er, I probably shouldn’t publicly admit that I haven’t yet read Flashforward… Rob Sawyer being a local author and all… I guess I should get on that?
I’m a little concerned about your frustrations with the forum. I know the TalkAboutComics site goes down on a pretty regular basis… if enough people are annoyed with it, I can move the forum somewhere else. Anyone else having issues?
