OK, that whole eigenspace thing is pure babble; I won’t even grace it with the prefix “techno”. If you’re curious, the formulae in the first panel were drawn from Michio Kaku’s book Hyperspace, which I read many years ago when it first came out. It’s all somewhat random, but I suppose it gets the point across that Mal’s in scientist-geek mode.

It seems to be necessary to have some techno-babble in every SiFi story. I like it. It helps it along. One doesn’t have to do more than a few lines to help establish it. I like the motto in the research lab.
