When it absolutely, positively has to be delivered to the other side of the galaxy…

Still haven’t moved house yet, but it’s time for the
Moving Sale!
For the month of October, I’m going to slash the prices of Galaxion books ordered online. And if you ever wanted to own a page of original art, now’s the time! We’ll have the store set up tomorrow for easy ordering, so please check back. Books make great holiday gifts!
EDIT: The store is set up with the sale prices now!
The regular updates, which I know you’ve all been missing, will resume November 4th. I promise.
See ya tomorrow, then.
Got it yesterday.
Ha! Fun little mini-update.
So if I order a copy of Galaxion, will you ship it to the other side of the galaxy for me?
Well I won’t, but Fusella will. There may be a small delay while they sort out a few details with the Jump Engine.
And you guarantee that there won’t be any weird butterflies hiding in the packaging?
Well, if there are, you-know-who is going to be the one to blame for giving me the idea!
A small delay in the order of several hundred years?
What about the older book and the collection? What if you already have Book one and are thinking about getting book 2 and 3? (such as the PDFs)
Hey, Fes! The older book, the collection of comics, and various combinations of such are all available, we just didn’t manage to post official sale prices yet. By all means, if you’re interested in something, drop me an email and I’ll give you my best price!
But thank you for the reminder. I will try to get other items added to the sale.
PDFs on their own are not part of the sale (although they are a complimentary addition to the purchase of a print book), since the purpose here is to clear my house of physical inventory so I don’t have to move it!
Oh, I was saying since the PDFs come with the purchase of the other books… but that means I would be out of a Book 1 PDF, since I already had that. (for completion sake). I’m still thinking on what I wanna do.
And yet again, her ship is appropriated for something she probably hasn’t agreed to with great enthusiasm. But maybe she should have seen it coming when she started selling off your books at reduced prices
Haha, that’s right– this is all her own fault!
Sale prices have now been added in the Store to the original Book One graphic novels and the collected comics. However, for pages of original art, I think you’ll have to take that to email. They have been discounted, though!
So you mention “original artwork available” and apparently this can be worked out via email, okay, but perhaps as a public service to your fans, you might tell us all a little bit more about what sorts of things you have for sale? Do you mean original artwork of specific pages of the Galaxion comic? So for example, if I said I am interested in the artwork for Galaxion volume X page Y are you likely to be able to put your hands on this and this is actually what you have for sale? Is it the case that you have the original artwork for most/all pages of the Galaxion comic available and that you would entertain reasonable offers on a first-come first-served basis? Can you tell me roughly what corresponds to a reasonable price range for a typical given page? can you tell me what the medium of the art and the size of the pieces? I assume everything is black-and-white?
Thanks
This is a really good question to ask, and I admit in the craziness I have dropped the ball about the artwork! I will give some more details, but I think it is probably fair to extend the sale for the artwork so that everyone can have a fair chance to think it over.
I have original artwork of the Galaxion pages for sale, going back all the way to Chapter One. The pages are inked (so, black and white) and are 11″x17″ in size (meaning, the bristol board is 11×17, the artwork is 9×14). Not all pages are available as some have previously been sold, but there is still a great selection. At conventions, I typically sell pages around $80. For the Moving Sale I’m pricing them at $50, which includes shipping. Things are still a bit chaotic here at the new Galaxion HQ (meaning, I’m still digging stuff out of boxes!), but once I’m properly set up I can upload some photos so you can get a good idea of what an original page looks like, and how it compares to the final, online version.
I also have some smaller pieces for sale, 9×12 black and white art of the “convention sketch” variety. Again, I’ll have to post photos so you can get an idea of what these are like, since they vary greatly.
Thanks for asking!
Hi, thanks this is really helpful. So just to be completely clear — the bristol board is the actual medium that the artwork has been directly rendered onto, right? And the board is physically 11″x17″ and then inside this region is the artwork, inked by hand, and that region where the artwork is found is, 9″×14″ and so the result is that there is a completely blank region on the bristol board that corresponds to an outer boundary. Right? And the 9″ x 14″ artwork region, this corresponds to a single “page” of the comic, right? And as a rule there are no substantive changes between the original artwork and the (black and white) artwork we see in the comic and the books, right? in other words, you don’t make substantive digital changes after you have scanned the hand-drawn work? Right? So in comparison to the printed books, for example, the original artwork will be appear as substantially “magnified” because when you printed the books you reduced each page down from the 9×14 orignal art. Right? And what you would ship would be the whole 11″x17″ — shipped flat, not rolled. Right?
Sorry for so many questions. If all my assumptions are correct, you can just say “yes, that’s right”.
