Thank you to everyone for your support and your understanding during what was, to put it mildly, a bit of a rough patch over the holidays. We’re all settling in to the “new normal” and we should now be back on schedule.
EDIT: I almost forgot! This weekend I will be in the Dealers Room with my Galaxion books and buttons and so on at the science fiction and fantasy convention, Immortal Confusion, in Detroit, Michigan. This is a brand new show for me, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s like. If you’re in the area, please come and say hello!
And here we go with Chapter Ten! It’s been a long time since we were back on the ship, and I’m glad to be here. If you’re feeling confused over how we got from the end of Chapter Nine to here (or, I suppose, the end of Chapter Eight, which was the last time we saw Scavina Nelson), that’s OK. All will be explained as the chapter progresses.
Dr Lockwood, I feel compelled to add, is a new character who is actually an old character– she played a larger part in the pre-webcomic version of Galaxion, but in aid of moving the story along I have kept her out of the limelight until now. And yeah, I’ve taken the opportunity to change her up a bit, so if you’ve read the old version but the image doesn’t quite ring a bell, that’s why.
Hi Tara! Hope you’re feeling better.
Nope, Dr. Lockwood’s face here doesn’t ring a bell. Now I suppose I’ll have to go back and look. And I can already tell that here she’s a no-nonsense doc, who could probably pull rank if Scavina doesn’t cooperate.
Glad to have you back.
Welcome back.
I do recognise Doctor Lockwood, those cheeks are the giveaway. I also remember how she fared initially… this is better. Also, yay completely new story at last!
Hooray, Patty is safe. I hope. For now.
Welcome back!
“If you don’t like it, next time stay on the ship.” Do I hear Fusella cackling in the background?
You could hear Fusella cackling from the bridge. XD
Glad to have you back, Tara.
New chapter, new chapter! I love the ship bay.
Welcome back. I blinked and hey ….. wah?
To me it looks like the original lander and the modified craft that picked up Zan and Aria both made it back in one piece. Also, when I squint at the original lander gangway it looks like at least one more of the landing party is being loaded down the gangway onto a waiting gurney. I’m guessing Zan and Aria made it back to the ship first, the lander followed later and the landing party had a rough time of it judging by how banged up the General is. Hope that’s Patty being loaded because if that’s Vessa the team really has had a nasty time of it.
Looking forward to deck plans of the Galaxion one of these years…
Wow. Tersa’s shuttles are also fancy since the “windshield” is also heart shaped and has flourishes adorning it. Is that door just below the main engine? I ask because I also like the hanger bay, since it reminds me of a long ago anime.
Welcome back. Hope everything goes well with the Detroit convention and your future endeavors.
Oh, and what was that alarm, by the way? The suspense is tingling and gripping!
“Wow. Tersa’s shuttles are also fancy since the “windshield” is also heart shaped and has flourishes adorning it.”
The Galaxion was originally built as the space-going equivalent of a billionaire’s luxury yacht. I assume that the shuttles came with the ship when Tersa bought it, thus their rather un-military look.
Certainly, this shuttle was equipped that way. TerSA will have supplied other gear beyond the landers, of course…
Woot, all-new, never-before-seen Galaxion! You can now expect me to swoon every Tuesday.
And hey, you’ll be at Immortal Confusion? Awesome, wish I was going. Be sure to check out the table for Detroit’s bid for the 2014 NASFiC and maybe lend ‘em your support. http://detroitin2014.org/
Welcome back! I’m looking forward to see what this next chapter has in store for us! Fu must be enjoying this a little too much….the General gets treated just like everybody else. (As well she should, because microbes etc. don’t really care who is a general or not.)
