The General’s daughter. If you missed it, this flashback begins one page back.
Word on the Street turned out to be– despite the gloomy weather forecasts– a really great day! It was super busy and I met a lot of wonderful people, including my co-panelists Jim Munroe and Shannon Gerard, who are collaborating on the graphic novel Sword of My Mouth. We chatted in front of an audience about the challenges of doing comics and raising kids, and it’s so very comforting to be reminded that there are other people going through the same challenges you are! When you spend all of your free time drawing comics in your basement, it can be easy to forget that….
Hi, Tara! I’ve been a big fan of Galaxion since I stumbled upon it this August. I’ve even bought the Graphic Novel and comics #7-11 of the old version. (On #11: Wow!!) And The Jump, of course.
*sob* I feel sorry for Hilena now, considering what’s going to happen.
Side note: will there be a bonus page this Friday?
Nice little detour from the main story hehehe… Hilena’s dressed like a hippie??
By the way, like how you show the tension with that thought dialog in the middle.
PS: you’ve email.
This is a fantastic page! The last two panels have a universal human quality to them–the fear of missing someone and wanting to stay connected. I’ve seen that same expression in my own children and you captured it right-on. Well done.
Flivver?
..isn’t that slang for a model T?
I like the way you’ve done Hilena’s clothing (the first non-uniform wear we’ve seen, I think!), making it distinct as a fashion but different enough from what we’d expect to see someone wearing. Clothes are one of the hardest things to make “fit” in most scifi!
