I don’t think Zan can do anything without leaving a big mess behind. 
Is it a little weird, seeing Galaxion with all this grey tone? It may not be clear, especially for those reading week-to-week, but the use of shading here is meant to show that they’re running on dim emergency lighting.

And now we see why the General keeps Zan around — he makes a hell of a mess, but he’s darn handy in a real pinch.
