I have no real excuse for the goggles Zandarin is wearing, other than that I seem to be reading a lot of mad scientist-type comics, and I found myself with an uncontrollable urge to draw him in a a pair of them. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.
Did you draw the layout of the ship and for each of the larger rooms in order to keep track?

The goggles could be safety glass, and required in certain areas “just because,” or, they could be lenses with special filters and displays, paired with his other equipment, for live readouts of what his instruments are picking up and calculating.
Considering who’s wearing them, I figured it was more likely the second.
