What’s with that “9″ and triangle on all the coffee mugs, I hear you say? Glad you asked! The number-in-triangle in Galaxion is a universal caution sign. The number tells you the level of danger, and the higher the number, the more cautious you need to be. The symbol crops up on the airlock doors in the start of the Chapter One flashback (pp. 6-8), for example, and can also be found on the entrance to the engine core here. The lab crew helpfully designed their own mugs.
I love that “February’s Taste Test” chart Mal fills in. I could make out “watermelon” and “tabasco”, what what is the next?

If your not writing or studying tech manuals the “Taste Test Chart” would be a nice way to fill the time. If it is a parallel universe it damned sure wouldn’t be the one “next door” not with that kind of large variance. Since it isn’t distance you are measuring between the trillions if not quadrillions of universes I use parameters as a measurement.
