Knows what to do, hmmm. Seems like what they’ve been doing is huddling in the tunnels, getting picked off here and there. Slowly getting wiped as they do nothing to curb the invaders. Sounds like death by a thousand cuts to me. Hiding and hoping to be overlooked is kinda like being dead and just waiting to be buried.

Yes. Who are those guys? If there were rocks to turn over for clues I’d try that.
It might take 2 or 3 weeks to return to Aria at the foot of the stairs.
And their failure to explain any of this doesn’t work.
Lacking any real scientific staffing they might not know how the Miesti do that, but they should be very impressed and afraid of what they can do.

Heh, what they are both failing to realize about Scavina is that failing to tell truth, or even omissions will turn her against you. She has always struck me as the type where you lay everything on the table and than thrash out a decision. Hopefully she will point out to V that their collective angst about their loved ones makes them less able to think objectively, and they may need to look at other options to find facts, even if they can’t hope to find truth.

Yes, that’s what’s happening. I decided I could leave it out as an unnecessary distraction once the pattern was established, at least when Carl’s not in the same frame. But as with many other things, it’s easier to notice and remember that pattern when you read the whole chapter at once, rather than once-a-week. Having said that, though, the extra translator’s bubble tail (?) does actually make a reappearance on next week’s page.

In Scavina’s defense, I don’t think Vanguarthe or Carl have yet explained *why* the Hiawatha’s crew is lost. And to do that, they’ll need to explain how the Miesti control people.

Although… Carl said that Jeff “never returned”. It occurs to me that “never returned” does not necessarily mean “converted by the Miesti”. And *now* I’m wondering about that mystery voice Aria heard in the corridors…
