No. Civilization as we know it could suddenly end… like Elanine on Seinfeld (she could stop a raging party with only a few horrible moves) but worse. On the other hand, I excell at rocket science !

Oh, it’s not really that hard, though perhaps my example videos were more complex than usual. My 7-yr-old can do it!

It looks much more complicated than it actually is. The caller walks everyone through the dance without music first, so you know the sequence of steps. And it doesn’t have to be any more complicated, foot-work wise, than stepping/walking in time to the beat. It’s really a lot of fun! Most groups have free beginners workshops before their dances – so it doesn’t cost you anything, but the gas to get to the dance hall, to give it a try! Highly recommended!

If I were in that, I’d end up tripping the girl I just caught, sending her into the next couple and then sending that couple into a cartwheel trip and so on until everyone in the dance had a scraped knee or sprawled all over the floor. It’d be like a San-Joaquin-Valley-fog-car-pile up of some sort.

Curious enough to Google it I found out that Contra Dancing is the old-fashioned kind from the 1700′s. The dancers form 2 lines facing each other and trade partners in a short dance until they have done that with everybody in the other line. If you’ve seen one of those movies depicting life back then like “Pride and Prejudice” that must have been Contra Dancing.
Silly me! I am against dancing, so I thought this might be just my style!

Damn, I’m un-hip…. I have no idea what contradancing is….. I’m so un-hip, I doubt that hip kids still use the word “hip”
