Hooray, 200! :D

>>So what have you all been reading lately? :-)

A weird mix of 1930s Modernist poetry, Jack Kerouac, and Scholarly Essays (for class); Buddhist sutras, Borges, Zen texts, H.G. Wells, and Dunsany (for a short story I'm writing) and uh... probably some books for pleasure in there somewhere...

The book I've read recently that I enjoyed the most is Ha Jin's "In the Pond" (http://www.amazon.com/Pond-Ha-Jin/dp/0375709118) It's outright hilarious.

Congrats on the 200, of which I have just read in one sitting. (And I'm off to work to sleep!)

May be a bit odd, but I can just see Fu in a Bison costume in the last panel.

Yay 200! :D

Unfortunately university has me far too busy to properly sit down and read a good book, so all I've had time to read are webcomics. Aand because no one else seems to have mentioned it, I shall point all of you who do not already know of it towards The Adventures of Dr. McNinja by Christopher Hastings and Anthony Clark (http://drmcninja.com/). I must, however, advise you to not go reading though the archive unless you have a lot of time on your hands (or time that you wish to waste) because there is a lot to read there.

@Vulpis, by that do you mean that she's making overtures to Darvin as a prelude to something else? ;)

Reading: Pluto by Naoki Urasawa (Manga); The Seventh Tower, by Garth Nix (Fiction); War in a Stringbag by Charles Lamb (non-fiction). Just finished One of Our Thursdays is missing by Jasper Fforde (Ffun).

I'm going to be picking up 'The Wise Man's Fear' shortly -- I've been really looking forward to it. Patrick Rothfuss has the beard of a young Alan Moore, so he must be doing something right.

I just finished 'Cowboy Angels', by Paul McAuley. It's a SF/AH/spy story, kind of like if John Le Carre wrote 'Sliders'. Great concept, stylish execution, but it had a disappointing ending.

Now I'm reading 'Heartless', Book 3 in Gail Carriger's crazy and fun Victorian/paranormal romance/steampunk/AH 'Parasol Protectorate' series.

After that, it's on to some Elizabeth Bear, who I've never read before, based on a recommendation by a member of my writers group.
