It was actually the early print edition- from 1998, I think. I should dig up their suggestion form and reccomend that they buy the new ones. Been trying to spread the Galaxion love lately and where better but the library?

The second book should be out in May, so I hope they’ll be acquiring it for their collection. If they don’t, feel free to suggest to them that they do!

Hello~
I just plowed through the archives in a few days and I wanted to thank you for posting this as a webcomic. I first found the print edition of Galaxion in my local library a year or so ago and loved it; when I checked it out again recently I had the sense to Google it in hopes of a sequel. This is even better! I’m a shameless webcomic addict, for one, and I won’t have to worry about library purchasing to get my fix. And that terrible cliffhanger will be/has been dealt with.
So yes. Thank you so much. This story is fantastic.

I actually think that a webcomic is, in a way, better suited for those scenes than a printed
one: The webcomic has unlimited space. Of course, the waiting is easier with daily comics
than with weekly ones …

Gabriel, I think there are lots of people who have the same opinion as you! It’s much more common for a strip format webcomic to be successful online rather than a “long form” comic like mine, because when you’re reading page by page, it can be difficult to keep each page satisfying when there isn’t a punchline at the end. And I’m not doing my audience any favours by only updating once a week. I worry about this problem quite a lot, but I’m not really sure what I can do about it.

This part of the story happens to be a bit of a lull in the action, in which I’m spending time developing the characters. The plot isn’t really being advanced in these pages, except in very oblique ways. I’m with you– I much prefer reading story comics in large chunks, and there are only a few long form webcomics that I’m able to keep up with week to week.

But take heart– we’re putting together the next graphic novel right now! The plan is to debut it at TCAF in early May. I also hope to get digital versions available, for those who prefer reading that way.

In the meantime, I won’t be offended if you only drop by periodically, so you have a bunch of pages to read in a row. I can warn you, though, if you’re bored by the business with the cat, you probably won’t enjoy the next scene much either.

Hi Tara. I’m a fan of your comic from the nineties (printed edition; I used to say that maybe I am your only fan in South America) and now I’m following you in the web, even if I prefer printed comics. Now I want to rise an issue to get your opinion and that from other readers, and this is not against your webcomic, but having read the last 3 or 4 pages in which the “action” consisted in searching for a missing cat, and chatting about old issues while eating, I wonder if this is an example of the problem that webcomics represent to me (and maybe others). In a printed comic devoting three or four pages to “side plots” or non action scenes is no problem, because you have many other pages to read, but doing so in a webcomic that is issued once a week is not a problematic device? To me, it takes me out of “mood” (the fact to have to wait a week to read a new page or complete a scene has this effect on me, but when there’s plot forwarding action in them I can cope with it) and that’s sad, because I like very much Galaxion and miss very deeply the possibility of reading a 24 page issue each month, that to me was a more fulfilling way of reading a comic. I repeat, this is not against Galaxion, but it is only an opinion about a plot device that I think do not work good in webcomics. Any comments?
