*snirk* Unlike Paulomus below, I *have* read the original comic (well, part of it anyway–I snagged one of the collected from the middle of the story) , after all–and seeing that happen was one of the more disappointing bits of the section of the story I had. Patty’s one of my favorite characters…after all, how can you not like someone who could potentially defuse an interstellar war just by wearing a hat to a meeting between them, her…unique fashion sense confusing both sides to thoroughly that noone can remember why they were bothering to fight in the first place!

Hmm. Of course, that may be why she was targeted, given some of the…abilities these people have (trying not to spoil too much)–she was facing the dreaded Fashion Critic!

I actually started at Girlamatic in 2006. I launched galaxioncomics.com about a year later, and ran both sites concurrently after that.

I must admit I’m starting to share some of Scavina’s impatience with Carl at this point, though I imagine he does have his reasons. I haven’t read the ‘original’ comic so I’m speculating here, but I guess the fate of the Hiawatha’s crew might have some connection with the political/military conflict going on here. So maybe the answers are both too complex and unsatisfying to be easily explained.
