In panel two, the correct vernacular would be ‘……..threatening to play havoc with the data stream, but I think………” This is because the data cannot be modified by the weather etc. The data could never be incorrect (as transmitted) only incomplete…
Incidentally, this is the same as digital tv, where you either receive complete data (a perfect picture) or incomplete data (no picture)
