Photoshop takes some getting used to. . .but the tones are well worth the effort. Jenny’s work in “Zombie Hunters” is a good example.

@Corbin: Thank you! I have to agree with you– faster would be better. I haven’t figured out how to be faster, sadly. I’ll keep working at it!

@Stripey: Not so much a new technique as a continuation of the one I used for the Pathfinder story. My early attempts at using greytones were pretty horribleI I’m still learning the ways of Photoshop. Meanwhile, I plan to only trot out the greytones for times when I really need it (like for the dark interiors of crashed ships) and hope that it won’t look too out of place.

This remains one of my favorite web comics. I especially like the
artwork, the characters, and the quirky personalities.

My daughter likes it too!

Our only complaint: more + faster = would be better. My daughter plans
to “skip checking for updates for the whole summer” so that she can sit
down and read at least more than one or two pages at one sitting…..

I guess quality work cannot be rushed….

JakeS & Nate: Since they’re being this cautious, (I still don’t see any redshirts, have you heard from our union rep?) they may have deployed low atmosphere probes to take air, water, and soil samples. It’s also possible that they did that in their landing craft on the way down, before they disembarked without environment suits.

@JakeS: Yes, especially since this planet has a biosphere that looks like Earth, which means compatible DNA is a high probability, and potentially had a human population wiped out by a world-ending catastrophe like, oh, how about biowarfare? Oops. Oh well, too late now.

Maybe this is a stupid question. But if they are treating this as a first contact situation with an unknown planet... Then why aren't they bringing their own air? Sure, the micro-organisms on a completely foreign planet are probably not sufficiently similar in their biochemistry to give them diseases. But probably isn't something I'd like to bet my survey contact team on... - Jake
