Hi B-Ren! The first version was left on an awful cliffhanger, so I totally do hope to get beyond it! I was probably about a quarter of the way done when I stopped, and right now I'm, oh dear, only about halfway to where the first version stopped! That's because I front-end-loaded the new version with a lot of that extra stuff I mentioned a couple of comments ago. I've got a lot of story left to go....

*Ms* Mierter? Outch, that hurt... and I can't think of it being not intentionally...

As it is my first comment, I'll use the occasion to say: I love Galaxion, the careful drawing (not to mention the well planned plot) and especially all these Jugendstil motives :-)

Relaunches tend to be superior to their original source material because the writer/artist often knows what mistakes were made the previous time and can smooth out those errors while expanding on areas that needed improving. For instance, Tara's statement about character development and the like. I've been observing several relaunched comics (Picatrix and Earthsong to name a couple, and "A Distant Soil" for a print version), and despite knowing the basic story, have greatly enjoyed seeing what improvements have happened to the story.

These same signs are visible if you look closely at Galaxion. The work on the comic and its story is a professional level, and indeed is better than a lot of the comics put out by mainstream comic companies (though part of the failings of DC and Marvel is due to editorial meddling). No doubt even fans of the original print run (which I've not seen) would find the web-version to be an enjoyable read that surprises them at multiple turns.

Hi KCGHOST,

No, these are all new pages! It's true that the basic plot is the same, but I added a lot of new material-- especially character development-- and changed a number of details (for instance, in the previous version Zan was the leader of the Contact Team. Now it's Vessa). A couple of the short stories in the archives are "reprints", but Pathfinder has been all rewritten and redrawn, and A Matter of Principle is entirely new!

Even if you've already read the old versions of the story, I think you'll find a lot in the new version that will keep you interested! :-)

And, Razor: thank you! Yes, you're right, compared to the SDF-1, things could've gone a lot worse for the Galaxion! :-D

New reader, and just popped by to say I love it! Brings me back to my roots; I was introduced to anime with Robotech back in the day, before anyone in America knew what anime was. At least the Galaxion still HAS its engines...

I love your art style (and I LOVE Fusella's hair!). Keep up the good work!
