1983, the very first picture of… Starsha. Ahaha. Did I mention I was heavily influenced by Star Blazers? It didn’t take me long to realize the error of my ways (blatant swiping = bad), and I changed the name to Aria shortly afterwards. One thing that hasn’t changed about Aria is that she was always a member of the Contact Team. Except I didn’t call it the Contact Team back then– she was a “Scavenger.” It’s hard to imagine how I ever believed Scavenger was a satisfactory job title, but I suspect 12-year-old me thought it sounded romantically rough-and-ready, kinda like a frontiersman.
